World Book Day, and other things!

We have enjoyed another busy week.

Our English work this week has been on the story of Chicken Licken and we have been identifying characters and settings, before completing a simple book review.

In Maths we have continued our work on halving and quartering. We used the 1/2 and 1/4 symbols to describe fractions of shapes. Some of us began to transfer this to our knowledge of halving numbers. Please have a go at Bingo for homework on the activelearn website.

On Thursday we were blown away by the children’s amazing costumes for World Book Day.

Today, the children once again did us proud in their fantastic Grace Darling assembly. Many of these children have never spoken in front of an audience before, but each one presented their speaking parts confidently, and remembered all the complicated things they had to do. Well done, Class 1, you were brilliant! We hope our visitors enjoyed it as much as we did.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
