October Half Term update

We have had a fantastic last few weeks in Year 1 and 2.

In Year 1 the children have written their own versions of Hickory Dickory Dock for assessed writing. Year 2 children wrote their own stories based on the book ‘Wanted! Have you seen this Alligator?’

We have completed some work based on the role play wedding we had in church last week. This was lots of fun and the children really learned a lot about how people show that they belong together. A big thank you to Reverend Simon for leading the service and to all the parents who came to help.

In maths Year 1 children are beginning to add numbers to 10. Year 2 have begun to add and subtract single digit numbers using column addition and counting on the number line.

On Wednesday, Claire and Lee came in to talk to us about their reptiles. It was fascinating to see the snakes and to meet Joey the tortoise. We learned so many interesting facts!

On Thursday was our classroom art gallery. We were so proud to show our visitors all of our hard work. Thanks to all who came.

Next term our topic is Superheroes.

For holiday homework, please visit our activelearn website and play on the maths games linked to our topics for this term.

Have a lovely half term!
