Mrs M’s Phonics group week 4-

Monday-

Search for ‘Phonics Bloom’ online. Click on phase 3. Look for ‘flash cards’- phase 3 graphemes. There are ships that appear and your child says the sound on the sails.

Words for spelling-

Is, as, at, a, up, Mum.

Words for reading. Give each child a word- was, will, with, my, for, too. Take turns to read it. Swap words and repeat. Put all the words in the middle of the circle and take turns to read one more time.

Quick write- them, much, rush.

Tuesday-

Write the sound you hear. Adult says any sound from the phase 3 sound mat. Child writes the sound correctly in response to the sound. Do this 8-10 times.

Tricky word quick write- Give chn 1 minute to look at the words – no, put, back, the, got, get, then write each one.

Play tricky word snap! Make a snap game using 5-10 tricky words. Play with a partner. How many can you SNAP?

Quick write- ring, shell, chick.

Wednesday-

Play tricky word snap!

Quick write- food, hook, sail.

Thursday-

Words for reading. Give each child a word- you, this, that, they, then, them. Take turns to read it. Swap words and repeat. Put all the words in the middle of the circle and take turns to read one more time.

Quick write- keep, soap, sort.

Words for spelling. Is, as, at, a, up, Mum. Dad, of, him, his, go, no. How many can you spell correctly?

Words for reading. Give each child a word. Take turns to read it. Swap words and repeat. Put all the words in the middle of the circle and take turns to read one more time. (was, will, with, my, for, too, you, this, that, they, then, them).
