Years 1 and 2 trip to Manchester
We are writing to tell you about a trip for all children in years 1 and 2. The children will be travelling by coach to Manchester, on Thursday 5th May, where they will visit the Cathedral in the morning and the Jewish Museum in the afternoon.
During the day we will be looking at the following questions:
- What happens in a synagogue and a church?
- How do Jewish people and Christian people pray?
- What stories are in the Torah and the Bible?
The cost of the visit (including coach travel) is around £19, but we are very fortunate to have received a grant from The Bishop Pursglove Foundation which has subsidised the trip by about £5 per child. We are therefore asking if you could kindly help us by providing a voluntary contribution of £14.
All children in KS1 are entitled to free school meals and we can provide a packed lunch on the day. However, our kitchen is only able to do this if we know your requirements by Monday 25th April. If you choose to provide your own packed lunch then please ensure that it does NOT include any glass bottles or fizzy drinks. All children will need their water bottle with them and a small bag to carry their own lunch in.
Please ensure that children are in school by 8:20am on the day, wearing normal school uniform, so that we can set off in time and make the most of our visit. School will be open for Years 1 and 2 from 8:10am. We hope to return to school at about 4:00pm but will keep you informed by text if our journey is affected by traffic.
