We have been very busy over the last few weeks. Our creativity work has been focused on zoos and we have written zoo keeper instructions and fables about animals. In the afternoons we have made our own animal enclosures, created posters for the animals and found out where they live on a world map. We have also used a key to make our own zoo map, grouping animals by the continents they live in.
We also created some animal masks in Year 1, while the Year 2 children took part in the football tournament.
In RE we have continued our work on belonging. We compared the Aqiqah ceremony celebrated in Islam to welcome a new baby to a Christian Infant baptism.
In maths we have been looking at addition and subtraction.
Year 2 have been looking at fact families.
Year 1 have been using the part-whole model to find number facts.
Year 1 homework: Learn by heart all pairs of numbers that make 5. If you can already do this, try pairs to 6 and 10.
Year 2 homework: Learn by heart all pairs of numbers that make 10. If you can already do this, why not try pairs to 20. Hit the button is great for this.
